INGENIA WINS “RED HERRING 100 EUROPE” AWARD
Ingenia Technology, the UK company developing the next generation of security technology, is pleased to announce that it is a recipient of Red Herring 100 Europe, an award given to the top 100 private technology companies based in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region each year.
Red Herring, which conferred the award, is a global company providing media forums for innovation in technology. Companies spotted early on by Red Herring editors include eBay and Google.
Ingenia’s flagship technology is Laser Surface Authentication (LSA™). The invention of Professor Russell Cowburn, LSA™ is a groundbreaking technology which recognises and verifies the inherent “fingerprint” on all papers, plastics and metals. It can therefore be used to detect fraudulent or counterfeit reproductions of items such as passports, pharmaceutical products and consumer products including tobacco, alcohol and mobile phones. Unlike traditional “hologram” forms of security verification, LSA™ is highly accurate – often more so than DNA.
As a Red Herring winner, Ingenia will be present at the Venture Market Europe (VME) 2007 event on March 25 – 27.
Mounir Barakat, Chief Executive of Ingenia, commented:
“We are delighted to have been chosen by Red Herring for this prestigious award, in a year in which the company received over 700 submissions. This award demonstrates the recognition Ingenia is gaining in the security technology sector internationally and is a ringing endorsement of our pioneering LSA™ technology.”
