ProteXXion? identification technology nominated for Hermes Award. Bayer Technology Services. News Release. March 27th, 2007

HANNOVER FAIR/INTERKAMA+

ProteXXion® identification technology nominated for Hermes Award

Bayer Technology Services presents comprehensive process automation know-how

Leverkusen – Bayer Technology Services GmbH (BTS) is presenting its innovations in the field of process analysis technology, operational excellence and identification technology at the Hannover Fair/Interkama+, the leading international trade fair for process automation, from April 16 – 20, 2007.

The focal point of the BTS stand (Stand E 54, Hall 16) is ProteXXion®, an innovative identification technology for the forgery-proof authentication of objects and packaging that has been nominated for the prestigious Hermes Award, the international technology prize awarded by the Hannover Fair. ProteXXion® provides effective forgery protection without the need for additional marking or tagging by using laser light to unequivocally recognize each object on the basis of its individual surface structure. Based on Laser Surface Authentication technology invented by Ingenia Technology Ltd. of the UK, ProteXXion® was developed by BTS for industrial applications.

For four years now, Deutsche Messe AG has made the Hermes Award, an internationally recognized technology prize for forward-looking innovations, the centerpiece of the Hannover Fair. BTS was also nominated two years ago for SpectroBay MultiTemp, its innovative optical thermometer.

BTS is also displaying the latest technologies at the NAMUR stand (Stand E 41, Hall 7). On display are two innovative online bioanalytics products: BaychroMAT™ CellCount and the new BaychroMAT™ Bio HPLC. These products allow the fully automated, production-concurrent control of fermentation processes on the basis of cell count and protein concentration. These process devices include a newly designed, steam-sterilizable sampling valve combined with proven automation components.

Other BTS topics from the field of process analyzer technology (PAT) are PAT system solutions, online spectroscopy for automated process control and a container system solution jointly exhibited with BTS's partner Endress+Hauser "Process Automation Live"  (Stand E 30, Hall 7). BTS is also showcasing its expertise in the fields of performance monitoring, manufacturing execution systems, control system migration, alarm management and qualification/validation of process control systems.
